In 1992, W.K. Chan, the founder of Asian Food Center, Inc. and Asian Food Markets, opened a 10,000 square feet Asian supermarket in Edison the heart of central New Jersey. Within five years the store expanded to 25,000 square feet. Due to the increase in demand Asian Food Markets opened locations in Middletown (1995), North Plainfield (1998), Princeton/Plainsboro (2001), Cherry Hill (2005) and Staten Island, N.Y. (2007). In September of 2009, the original Edison store was closed and replaced by a larger store in Piscataway, N.J. In 2012 we opened our location in Marlboro, N.J.
